Yerba Buena

Yerba Buena is a twelve piece charanga orchestra playing the traditional Cuban popular music in the styles of son, danzon, and chachacha. With classic dance music by Cuban legends like Beny More and Orquesta Aragon, as well as original songs and arrangements, Yerba Buena gets everybody moving!

"The floor was a sea of faces so thick you couldn't even see the floor! From white-haired fans to teenagers, all were bopping to the glory of salsa tunes coming from a lively stage. Yerba Buena put forth a big band full of life. A slender woman crooned center stage with a flute, there was violin and percussion galore in a mad flurry of song. It had the bite of excitement! You were driven to gaze up that stage and enjoy the enthusiasm you could see in the movements of the players. The band was hot! And the audience knew it! Though they billed themselves as playing son, danzon, cha cha cha and salsa, to the unscholarly, it was all just good dance music. What a treat in this town - or anywhere!"
