Los Nietos del Son

Los Nietos del Son, "the grandchildren of son," plays traditional repertiore which developed in the Cuban countryside from the turn of the century to the 1950's. Acoustic guitars, vocal harmony, and syncopated rhythms blend with humour and romance to create a warm and festive sound. The recent widespread enthusiasm for Cuban son is a testament to it's cross-cultural and timeless appeal.

Los Nietos del Son as a trio feature three vocalists, acoustic guitar, tres (Cuban acoustic guitar), maracas and clave. Bass and bongo can be added to make a quintet suitable for events with dancing.
