Gumbo Jazz

Specializing in music of the 1920's and '30's, Gumbo Jazz is a popular Seattle based duo that has been entertaining audiences with their quick wit, colorful music and happy feet. Gumbo Jazz performs a wide repertiore of songs from the golden years of music, songs made famous by such notables as Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, and Cab Calloway. Memorable songs such as "Ain't Misbehavin," "Forty Second Street," "Dark Town Strutter's Ball," "Sweet Georgia Brown," and "Puttin' On The Ritz" are performed with a touch of vaudeville, authentic costumes and good humor.

These two artists accompany themselves on Dobro Mandolin, Washboard, Harmonica, Kazoo and other instruments. They are always enjoyed by enthusiastic listeners, especially during the "Audience Participation" segments of their show. Gumbo Jazz has toured extensively for the past several years throughout the United States and Canada. They are at home performing on stage or strolling through an audience.
