Since 1984 Bochinche has performed extensively in concerts, clubs, festivals, television appearances, and on tour for many organizations including the Washington State Arts Commission, the John F. Kennedy Center and the Seattle Symphony. Their highly acclaimed school show, "A Musical Tour of the Americas," has been well received in New York, Alabama, Texas, Washington and California.
Bochinche has won five Northwest Area Music Awards (NAMA) in the World/Ethnic category and won the Seattle Weekly magazine reader's poll as favorite band in 1991. They have compiled much of their original repertoire on their albums, "Ahora Bochinche," "Pina Con Coco," and the internationally distributed release, "Caracas," on the Heads Up International Record label.
"The group has become a beloved institution... The allure of Bochinche is in it's fiery rhythms, which ignite the dance urge in everybody...!"
-Patrick MacDonald, Seattle Times
"These are tunes made for long, long Saturday nights, percussion aplenty, horns, rumbling bass, good-time lyrics, dancers boogeying to sodden exhaustion into the wee hours..."
-Dave Ferman, Fort Worth Star-Telegram
"They look good, they move good, they sound good!"
-Rick Mitchell, the Oregonian
